    Installing Kali as VM

    Hi everyone,

what can happen if you select the wrong architecture while creating a VM for Kali? I know that Kali is based on Debian so I chose Debian 7.x and it worked (same for Debian 8.x and 9.x). Still I´m not sure whether I will have any problems later... also it is rather slow. Is it odd that I wasn't requested to log in? Giving in "uname -a" in the terminal gives "Linux kali 4.12.0-kali1-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 4.12.6-1kali6 (2017-08-30) i686 GNU/Linux" but there is no Debian 4.x in the creation of a VM.
So can I just go ahead and use those VMs that worked?

    Thank you for your help!

    Debian 4.x is very old.

Use the VM provided in the download section.
