    Troubles booting Kali Linux

    Hi,
I've been trying to install Kali linux (dual booted with windows 10) on my laptop but failed. Finds out the problem comes from my laptop because when I try to run my bootable usb drive onto my main computer, it works ! Now onto the details :

    My laptop :
It is in uefi mode and can't switch into legacy mode. I've Burned lastest kali linux iso onto my usb drive with Rufus. reference : HP Probook x360 11 G1

    My main computer :
Made it by myself 3 or 4 years ago, doesn't have UEFI (Legacy mode).

    My USB hardrive :
    16 Go hardrive from kingston. reference : DT101 G2

I would love some help ! If you need more details onto my laptop or other stuff just ask ! Thanks in advance ! (Hope that my english was alright )

PS : Maybe it's due to kali not supporting UEFI, but if so, I don't know if there's a compatible version of kali with uefi .

But what is the problem? You have mentioned every other thing except the problem itself. Kali fully supports UEFI.

First, thanks for responding this fast ! Well, when I want to boot on my usb drive, it simply doesn't work. In my other tries, it actually either wrote the error : \g21dr.mbr , or just stick to a black screen with a "white blinking thing that wasn't blinking ) on the top left corner.
Currently, when I go to my BIOS, when I go to the section "Boot Device" I got 2 "Windows Boot Manager" instead of one + the usb.
Hope that you understood what I've said .

That looks like the compatibility issue with your graphic card. Which discrete graphic card do you have?

When I go to the specs of my computer, it seems like there are two CPU's : -an Intel Celeron N3350 with Intel HD Graphics 500
-and an Intel Pentium N4200 with Intel HD Graphics 505
That would mean that they are no graphics cards at all and that CPU's got integrated graphics. Does that mean that I won't be able to boot kali because of that ?
More stuff about my computer just go to this link : https://support.hp.com/ee-en/document/c05350661
Hope that anyone can help me ^^ .

"Selected image did not authenticate" :/. At least the USB drive ,now appears as bootable again !
When I put the grub files etc. onto the usb, an other windows boot option appears, anyone can help?
Also, when I disable the secure boot, I can still boot the USB but a white rectangle with a black background appears, pretty much like the cmd does except that I can't interact with it...

You can't boot kali if secure boot is on. Can you show the screenshot of what of appears on the screen once you boot your USB. Does installer screen appear? Do not make any changes to your USB kali files once you burn it with rufus. Make sure to choose GPT Partition scheme and ISO mode in rufus to create bootable USB.

The problem is most likely incompatibility issues.

Well, like said before, when I want to boot the USB drive, the only thing showing up is a black screen with a white rectangle on the top left corner like a console. So no need to screenshot. But for now I got two questions :
-Firstly, would I be able to run Kali or won't I ever be able to ( run it on my laptop)?
-Secondly, is their a good alternative of kali that could work onto my laptop?

Hope that anyone can help me

That's probably a problem with graphic card. Installer might be not supporting your GPU. There are ways to fix this by editing the configuration files of kali image but it requires searching. You can try with other images too: https://www.kali.org/downloads/

There is one integrated graphic card and kali has compatibility issues with it. Try with other kali environments. KDE, LXDE etc.

When you boot USB, press e to open grub parameters. There replace the word splash with nomodeset splash. Press F10 to boot kali live.

It's been a long time but I know more things about the laptop :
I saw on a french forum that many people were having trouble with the same computer as I own because it simply refuse to boot to a "grub system".
One of them said that the computer had no problems to boot on syslinux based programs like Tails 3.3. He also said that you could change the grub thing into syslinux but that it wa s quiet hard. Now my question is : If what he says is true, then, how can I switch from grub to syslinux?
Also, if it's not possible, are they any good alternatives to kali (Knowing that most linux distribution use the grub system)?
