Thread: Slow USB ports

  1. #1

    Question Slow USB ports

    I have a Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 . Running Kali, Updated weekly .

There are 4 USB ports, Two of them being 2.0 , One being 3.0 and another being 1.0 .

Majority of the time 3.0 port has difficulty recognizing a USB Drive ( rebooting helps ? ) . The other 2.0 and 1.0 USB ports also have a slow transfer rate .

Tried multiple different usb drives 3.0 and 2.0 .

What is the best way going about troubleshooting this issue ? Is it some sort of driver issue? I was going to recompile and upstream the kernel, but wanted to check here first as I have found much info on this topic.

The flash drives are almost always formatted as FAT32 .

I've posted my specs below, thanks for any insight .

    EDIT:

I usually use gnome , but I have switched back to xfce and it has helped alot. I see a huge impact on transfer speed. !
