Does Skype work on Kali VM ok?
Any issues during install, is it straight forward?

Skype isn't in the repos, so I would be hesitant to install it. You'll probably need to edit /etc/apt/sources.list

Definitely take a snapshot of your VM before doing anything.

Agreed, Kali-for-good. Messing with sources.list shouldn't be done lightly.
