    Question [is it a] GUI Problem

    Hi Guys,

    I've been working with my Kali (pre-build image) for some time, but one day after update I cant get my GUI (GNOME) again... just blank screen, something stuck or frozen...

    After some boots, on GRUB screen I tried the advanced setting, and select a previous version and... Works like a charm!
    Since them I working with the previous version installed, but this really annoys me.

    In the bottom line:
    The latest version installed is "Kali GNU/Linux, with Linux 4.15.kali2.686-pae" do not work GUI;
    The previous version installed is "Kali GNU/Linux, with Linux 4.14.kali3.686-pae" the GUI works normally.
    (both versions I can work and access to shell terminals)

    Can you help me? Any thoughts?

    Hmm, sounds like a video driver issue. When you boot into the 4.15 kernel environment, is there anything in the output of dmesg, or /var/log that is helpful? Might also try journalctl -r (this sorts in descending order, so you see the latest entries at the top).
