P2.16xlarge Not Booting After Initial apt-get update && apt dist-upgrade -y

Spinning up a P2.16xlarge instance with Kali for cloud password cracking. After the initial update and upgrade command, SSH will not open after rebooting and the EC2 Management Console showed an error on one of the status checks showing that it was not accessible. I stayed with defaults and on the grub configuration I selected both since I didn't know which held the boot sector. Checking the Kali Documentation on the blog (https://www.kali.org/news/cloud-cracking-with-cuda-gpu/) showed that there is a CUDA enabled rolling image with AWS with much of the configuration done; what am I missing on this implementation?

Resolved. The installation must have been corrupt. A third attempt resolved the issue.
