Hello
I haveseveral laptops that I have been trying to install Kali from usb on, but someof them have odd native resolutions that differ from the standard 16:9 1280x720or 1920x1080.

I haveattempted installing the newest 64-bit version of Kali Linux 2018.2 as well as 2018.2W25 on the following laptops:
GNU GRUB version 2.02+dfsg1-4

- HPEliteBook 850 G5, 3840 x 2160 (4K) (hangs at a black screen)
- HP Pro X2 612 G2, 1920 x 1200 (hangs at a black screen)
- HPEliteBook 1040 G3, 1920 x 1080 (installer works just fine)

There are no visible error messages or any logs available since it just hangs at a completely black screen right after the chosen installation mode.

The following modes provoke this error:
- Start installer
- Advanced options -> Graphical mode
- Advanced options -> Text mode

- Advanced options -> Expert install in graphical mode
- Advanced options -> Expert install in text mode
- Advanced options -> Automatic installer in graphical mode
- Advanced options -> Automatic installer in text mode

Live booting works fine
