Cannot run kali .vmdk file on virtualbox

    Hi,

Been trying for some time now to run a virtualbox (v 6.0.6) with a kali-linux-2019.1-vm-i386.vmdk file on it. However, when running the file I get this error message.
    kali_not_working.jpg

The steps are New > Linux (Debian 64) > 2048 MB mem size > Use an existing virtual hard disk file > Error message

I have tried with different versions of Linux and get the same error message, I just used Debian 64bit as demonstration because the same settings works for a friend of mine.

In case you would need my pc specs, they are the following:

    Intel i9 9900K
    Asus ROG Strix E-Gaming Z390
    HyperX Predator 4000mhz 16GB

    Thank you in advance.

If you want to use that specific file, you'll have to use vmware to export it to ova.

If you haven't made any modification to the vmdk, just download the virtualbox image, it should work just fine.
