Hello, i am new to the forum, i have seen an archive thread similar but its solution did not work for me.
I have been using kali 4.17.0 with no issues, Then i upgraded to 4.18.0 and i started getting " a start job is running for dev-disk (1:30mins)"

and it stalls at failed dependency

At the grub prompt
> set root=(hd0,1)
>linux /boot/vmlinuz-4.18.0-kali2-amd64 root=/dev/sda1
>initrd /boot/initrd.img-4.18.0-kali2-amd64
>boot
this takes me back to several "a start job is running"

then freezes at dependency failed
changed lines at the grub menu as well to "rw init=/bin/bash" and still frozen at failed dependency
