Raspberry Pi 4: No wifi after update && upgrade

After booting the first time kali-linux-2019.2a-rpi3-nexmon on the Raspberry Pi 4 (4GB) everything works fine - wifi is working.

    But after executing
    Code:
    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
and rebooting the Raspberry, the wifi is not working anymore. It seems that the wlan interface is missing, because the command
    Code:
    iwconfig
    returns no wlan0 interface.

Adding a wlan0 interface to the /etc/network/interfaces file and restarting the network-manager via
    Code:
    service network-manager restart
    doesn't solve the issue.

    Is this issue known?
Do you know what I can do to bring the wifi back?

Same for me. Raspberry Pi 4, clean install of 2019.2a built in wireless adapter shows up fine. After doing an apt update/upgrade, built in wireless adapter goes missing

Hey, ive got the Same Problem. Also this Problem shows up at the 64Bit Image

    For me upgrading failed catastrophically.

Writing a new sdcard exhibits same problem as above, the on-board wifi is not working.

Also, the release notes posted at https://www.kali.org/releases/kali-l...019-3-release/ state that
All of the RaspberryPi images have had their /boot partition increased, which is required due to the size of the new kernel packages.
But even on the newly imaged sdcard, the partition is only 122MB, which I suspect is part of the problem....I am wondering if an incorrect/incomplete RPi image went up...

    Something tells me the

Anybody knows what to do? My router sadly has no "Ethernet" port so it is not possible for me to do an apt update

    Having the same issue still.

lsusb shows the device plugged in but I am unable to use wlan or bluetooth, external or built in.

After the hassle that I went through to get everything working before, the only apparent solution is to re-image with an older version and redo all the work I did before.

Pretty annoying that there hasn't been a fix to the issue that the update caused.

Does dmesg show any output when you connect the phone? It's possible that there isn't a device driver for whatever your phone is showing up as to the rpi, but we won't know without that output.

***disclaimer*** I'm new to Kali and new to Linux, but I am an IT professional. ***end disclaimer***

I had the same problem when I first loaded up my SD card, turns out that my problem was I downloaded the wrong image. I was (at first) trying to load the "Kali Linux Raspberry Pi Zero" image onto my Raspberry Pi 4 B. just as described the wifi worked perfectly until I ran apt-get update and apt-get upgrade, then it either won't boot at all or the wifi wouldn't work.

So, my suggestion is to double check what image you're using. For me, I needed to use "Kali Linux RaspberryPi 2, 3 and 4". Hope it helps
