Updated on 2019.12.31, now account is disabled

I can get in with one of my alternate accounts however the primary account with all my settings and installs is disabled and I cannot reenable it. Is this a general condition due to a bug or did some idiot take it upon themselves to force sudo on everyone WITHOUT NOTICE?

Is it disabled or you may not log in?

In the latter case, it may be somewhat related to this, if it's the root account:

    Maybe even if it's not?
    Solution here:

or just install the kali-root-login package

Kali seems to have deleted the package kali-root-login when doing an auto remove after the last update. Reinstalling this package makes it work.
