Hello everyone, hope you all are doing fine.
My problem started when I decided to upgrade my kali from 2019.2 to 2020.1. As I was experiencing poor network, I decided to download the full live 64bit iso. I followed the proper procedure (mounting, then adding the filepath to my sources file and then ran update & upgrade).
I wasn't asked to create a new user (I was using root).
Anyway, on completion, I restart and I can't login to my root profile so I go in via ttl and I can login and all documents intact. So, I create a new user and password, restart and it also appears on the login page.
I try to access it without success.
So I go back to tty and I can log in to the new profile.
I'm lost as to why
