BASH Shell text is entirely white how to fix this?

    Hi Forum,

I have installed Kali on about 4 or 5 machines and got used to having colour in the shell.

I just installed it on my laptop to boot straight into Kali although this time I notice that the shell text is all white. Its really bugging me.

Its all normal up until the point that I sudo su to run as root. Even if I login directly as root and open the shell its all white.

Any ideas how I can fix this please? I have looked at a few articles which suggest modifying ~/.bashrc but my version of this file isn't the same as the ones mentioned.

    Thanks for your help
