Installing fails with Hash Sum mismatch during "Select and install software"

I am doing a standard Kali installation inside VirtualBox using kali-linux-2020.1a-installer-amd64.iso. However, the installation fails during "Select and install software" step with the Hash Sum mismatch error (see attached screenshots). The strange thing is that to me the hash sums look correct. I wonder if there is something wrong with the "caesar.ftp.acc.umu.se" mirror but I don't see an option to change it in the installer. It fails quite a bit way into the process downloading file ~1500/~1950.

    Things I have tried:
    1. Try to start fresh again
    2. Try to run configure APT manually from the menu and specify http.kali.org as the mirror
    3. Look at /target/etc/apt/sources.list and modify it to use http.kali.org.
    4. Verify sha256 for my installation ISO

    Any ideas?
