Here are my specs:

Open air Desktop but still in case on its side
>Z87 Killer E2200 Motherboard
>Intel i3 cpu
>1 Amd Radeon HD830 in PCIe3 slot
>1 Amd Radeon HD830 in PCIe5 slot
>1 : 1tb HDD Sata kali linux 4.19.0-kali-amd upgraded to 5.4.0-kali-amd64 running in legacy
>1: 16gb ram Kingston
So I upgraded my operating system in root terminal because I am always root and my grub boot loader upon restart showed a blank screen with blinking cursor.

I have fixed this issue before in the install of kali-amd64-2020.4.

when I am at the main boot I hit F11 to bring up boot manager and I load into my HDD.
after loading into HDD it shows kali-amd64-5.4.0 and advanced
Down arrow and I immediately hit Advanced.
after hitting advanced it shows this:
Kali GNU/Linux, with Linux 5.4.0-kali4-amd64
Kali GNU/Linux, with Linux 5.4.0-kali4-amd64 (recovery mode)
Kali GNU/Linux, with Linux 4.19.0-kali4-amd64
Kali GNU/Linux, with Linux 4.19.0-kali4-amd64 (recovery mode)
I hit on my keyboard e on Kali GNU/Linux, with Linux 5.4.0-kali4-amd64 and proceeded with the removal of quiet splash and replaced it with nouveau.modeset=0 and hit F10 and then it saved and rebooted but didn?t fix the issue.

after I did that i tried it again with the proper way which i think is radeon.modeset=0 because I have a AMD video card correct.

still didn?t work but fixed my resolution to a lower resolution.

I really need help with my grub bootloader on my upgraded version.

do I try a live disk to reinstall the boot loader?

how do I reinstall the boot loader without a live disk?

Remember I am using Root for everything.
