    Kernel Update Question - DKMS aufs module Error "should not be built"

    Hello, I am getting the following e rror with the latest linux Kernel update this morning 4/16/2020 - wondering if this is something to worry about when I reboot.

    Specifically this error which shows up twice.

    Code:
    Setting up linux-headers-5.5.0-kali1-amd64 (5.5.13-2kali1) ...
    /etc/kernel/header_postinst.d/dkms:

    does not match this kernel/arch. This indicates that it should not be built.

    Yes, I think I have the same issue as you. I just updated/upgraded/dist-upgraded and Kali now CRASHES about 75% into the boot sequence.Kali Linux CRASH - IMG_4572.jpg. It crashes on every startup.

    Thank you - and can someone please call attention to this on the Kali forum

    Thank you for letting me know, I will not be rebooting until this is fixed or i have some way to rollback which I am not certain how to do. I can't afford to lose my machine right now....

    @Apok4LiTikal

    You're welcome. I reported my issue on Kali Linux Bug Tracker https://bugs.kali.org/view.php?id=6292 and was responded to quickly stating that it was being looked at and understood. I continue to believe that WE have the same issue. Hopefully it will be fixed shortly.

    I am also having trouble updating/installing wireguard. I wonder if it's related to this issue.

    I booted into the recovery instance this morning, ran apt update && apt upgrade -y and then rebooted and the issue went away..
