Someone please help. After scouring the internet for 3 days I'm not closer to solving this issue and am about to say ef it and reinstall the whole **** thing and loose all my data.
After running an update, I went to do a simple apt get apt-get upgrade and got the following error:
"unable to make backup link of './usr/share/seclists/Web-Shells/WordPress/plugin-shell.php' before installing new version: Operation not permitted
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/seclists_2020.2-0kali1_all.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)"
I am root
I cleared the APT cache, deleted everything from /var/cache/apt/archives/ and tried again to upgrade, got same error
I tried forcing the overwrite of the file
