Rpi 4 boots, not responding to any keypresses or mouse and stuck on login

Hi, I am running Kali Linux 2020.2 on Arm for the Raspberry Pi 4 (Rev 4.0). I recently installed it on a 64GB Samsung Evo+ Microsd. When the Pi boots (with the keyboard and mouse plugged into the USB 2.0 ports). I get the splash screen and eventually it gets to the Kali Login page but it does not respond to my keyboard nor my mouse. It is running as the clock in the corner is changing every minute.
Here are some things that I have tried
    - Swap Mouse and Keyboard
    - Unplug Ethernet when booting
    - Different USB-C cable (Because i have rev 4.0, The USB-c issue was resolved with rev 1.2)
(I am using a generic gaming mouse that has worked with raspbian, the same goes for the keyboard)

Made an account just so I can say: after 4 days of troubleshooting, I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue

    Here's some more details:
    - input devices are not working
    - after about 1 minute the interface completely freezes
    - ssh works fine, kali is up and running correctly
    - sudo apt update fails:

    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
All packages are up to date.

My best guess? Image is borked. Waiting for a new one.

Hey, I created an account to say that this same experience happened to me. I realized I installed the 32-bit version when I should have used the 64-bit version. Once I reflashed with the correct version everything was fine for me.

I had the exact same issue. installed the kali arm image. racking my brains for 2 days. no mouse no keyboard. When i noticed that the net card led wa not flashing, i thought there's something major wrong with this image. so I reinstalled using the 64 bit arm image. The 32 bit image does not seem to be there after just checking. Anyways, soon as I reinstalled the 64 bit arm image, bingo. everything works fine. I followed Black Hat Ethical Hacking
    https://www.***********************ovCT3A28VSw

    instructions which worked for me.

However, the reason I have just signed up to this forum, is not being able to ssh into the raspberry pi4b (4Gb). in the instructions he ssh 's into the Raspberry Pi4 it seems from the Pi4 itself. which i too able to do. I am trying to ssh from a MacOs via my mobile phone data hotspot. I can ping Pi to Mac and Mac to Pi no problem. but just cannot ssh! Ive tried using port 7 and 22. anyways, I am struggling to find the right forum to get this issue solved, the research continues...
