Login problems in Linux Kali

Hi, I have the problem that I can?t login as root in Kali.
I tested the standard thngs:

Name: root
Pas: toor

And I can?t login.

try using kali/kali

I've downloaded the Kali Linux 2020.2 Release (VMWare image) but I cannot login with the given credentials.
Never had such login problems with older versions.
