Problem creating a file system: The ext4 file system creation in partition #1 of SCSI7 sdb failed

I got this error while attempting to get kali linux working on a usb. The usb is 30gb and should have enough space, I am using rufus and the newest version of Kali linux, any advice?

    hi there my friend ,
have you tried to mount it as /root? try it and after that click on finish partitioning option. I hope this helps.
