Failed to install base system for Kali Linux 2020

Please I have been trying for days now to install Kali Linux on my computer with my windows 10 but on all occasions it keeps saying "a step failed and the failed step is: install base system" please if any one can help me as it is a part of our next course and it's compulsory to have and I don't want to loose the windows.
I have even tried changing my boot system from Legacy to UEFI but still to no avail.
