Kismet on kali wardriving basic question

Hi all, I'm new to wardriving and hopefully somebody could solve this basic question but I have searched online and other forums without success.

I have Kali 2019 +updates, an Alfa AWUS036NH wireless card and GPS receiver - all are working fine.
When I start Kismet, GPS coordinates are working and I'm detecting AP's. The problem is as I start a sample walk around my block, I'm detecting AP's from too far away and its messing up the accurate location. Is there a way to lower the gain of the wireless adapter or tell Kismet to ignore low signal strength AP's from being detected?

I'm sure I could manually edit the Kismet log files to remove distance/low-signal entries but I'd prefer to not have to.
    Kind regards.

You may want to edit the conf file kismet_filter.conf and uncomment/edit the following line:

    # device_location_signal_threshold_dbm=-65

    Peace
