Unhappy I can't login with root user

I previously updated linux time to 2020.3 but as soon as I entered the GUI mode login menu, there was only one user without root access, so I tried entering a new username with the contents of "root" and the password that I entered when I set up on sudo passwd I still It can't, but if I enter sudo su in a terminal with a root user, the password works
. but I want to enter my root user so I can more freely see the directory in the root user

Please login with default user and try following command.

    sudo passwd root

    set password for root.

After doing this you are able to login as root through GUI mode by using
    User Name : root
Password : root password (which was set by you)

    Thanks & Regards
