Adding apps tp Kali that is running on Windows 10 through wsl2?

I have Kali up and running using the "kex" command with a nice gui but I do not see a way to install more apps?

You install the apps on WSL the same way you would on a Kali installation, via the apt package manager. https://www.kali.org/news/major-metapackage-makeover/ has a list of metapackages that will pull in various tools if you don't want to customize your install that much.
