Hello everyone.
Recently my Kali 2018.4 crashed after I accidentaly pulled the plug on the host machine.
I'm using Kali in a Virtual Box environment and when I try booting it up again the screen goes black after the login screen. I'm actually able to input the credentials but then it's all black from there.
I've tried a couple of things I've seen on the internet, but not really knowing what exactly I was doing, at some point I even upgraded the user interface, it looks like Kali 2020 now, not sure if I upgraded the whole OS, hopeffully not.
Anyone has any idea how to get out of this mess? Unfortunately I had no snapshots of the machine.
