Hello.

I just bought a brand new asus vivobook and bricked it. It's quite dead.

I started it and booted into windows. After that I installed Kali on it..

It does boot. Grub shows up. I can choose normal, recovery mode and system setup.

Whilst booting in normal mode, it chews for a second before the following error message pops up:
0.458742] ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Failure creating named object [\SMIB], AE_ALREADY_EXISTS (20200326/dsfield-634)

Then it's dead. The only thing I can do is to reboot it again.

Tried Kali in recovery mode. It loads about a screen page with items before halting on loading the graphics card.
After that it's bricked.

Have tried to update the bios to the latest drivers without it helping.

Are there any workarounds to get it fixed or does the bios needs some "massaging" by Asus?

I have tried to reset bios, turn off all functions, secure boot and whatnots to see if that helped with the problem.
Nothing helped.

Btw the laptop is an Asus Vivobook 14 m413 (ryzen 7 4700u cpu and radeon vega integrated graphics card).
