It seems that the forensics tool Volatility is not part of the Kali repositories anymore.

The page for the package on kali.org says it's gone since October, the same for package volatility3.

The documentation on tools.kali.org still has a page for it, implying that it's part of Kali.

Are there plans to reintroduce Volatility to Kali's repos? Is there a replacement for analyzing RAM in Kali?

I had a look at the metapackage "kali-tools-forensics". According to kali.org's website here it contains Volatility and rekall, Google's now discontinued fork of Volatility.

In spite of what Kali's website says, Volatility is not part of that metapackage, but rekall indeed is.

Trying out rekall by just calling its executable "rekall", I get this stack trace though, with this error message

Code:
AttributeError: module 'openpyxl.styles' has no attribute 'Style'

apt-cache policy says I'm using the "main", "contrib", and "non-free" repositories.

"uname -r" gives "5.9.0-kali4-amd64".
