I'm going through the airmon-aircrack process as an assingment for school. I'm trying to crack my own wifi, using a text document with only that password. I monitor the wifi, trigger the disconnect, I see the handshake coming in, but still the aircrack command results 'key not found'. The wifi is wpa2, I've checked and rechecked the wifi password but this seems to keep returning the same 'key not found'. Does the password library txt need to be filled in in a specific way? It is just a text file no?
Also, as a bonus question, when trying the same on a wifi hotspot on an apple phone I do not see the handshake come in at all. How could this be?
