I ran "apt update" "apt upgrade" which used the (deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main contrib non-free) repository. During the upgrade my firewall started blocking "coinminer.c_4 trojan. This virus was blocked over 8400 times as well as over 20 port scans originating from "169.229.226.30" which is registered to Berkley. This all transpired over a 6 minute period while I was away from the machine. Each one of these attempts were targeting my Kali private IP address. Has someone compromised the update files at Berkley? I have updated various builds of Kali over the years and this is the first time anything like this has happened.
