Does Kali Linux have the same distribution branches as Debian in its life circle?

As we know, Debian Linux has three distribution branches: stable, testing, unstable. The unstable branch is always tagged with sid and rolling updated forever. I found that there are many repositories, such as kali, kali-dev, kali-dev-only and so on, after I has reached the repository page of Kali (http://http.kali.org/dists). My questions are:
    • Does Kali follow the same mechanism of Debian in its life circle ?
    • Is there a rolling update branch in Kali Linux?
