Hi. I am a newb. I hope you can help me with this problem.

I was attempting to do data recovery on a USB drive which I had accidentally over-written as a Debian start-up disk. As a first step, I tried to copy the USB drive using Guymager. However, I inadvertently made a clone of the USB on the HDD of the laptop on which I was working.

On rebooting, the HDD now shows as "Debian". I have not mounted it. Is it possible to recover the data from the HDD?

The HDD was recently re-installed with Linux MINT and had very little data on it, probably < 1GB. The "Debian" USB has capacity ~4GB. The HDD is about 500GB.

I'm running amd64 Live disk on a USB drive.

Distributor ID: Kali

Thank you for looking at this, and I hope someone can offer me some advice.
