I just installed Kali linux 2021.1 on acer aspire 5745 laptop (dual boot with windows 8.1).
The installation went well, but when I log in to my new os using my credentials, nothing appears on screen, except for the wallpaper and mouse pointer. There are no apps, panel, or anything. I checked the extensions, they were alright. It also doesn't have sound. I watched a video on YouTube on pulse audio. I followed the steps, and everything went as shown in the video, yet there was no sound.
Can you guys help me please?
