I am running Kali in a VirtualBox environment.

Linux kali-vm 5.14.0-kali4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.14.16-1kali1 (2021-11-05) x86_64 GNU/Linux

VirtualBox recently updated and it has new Guest Additions. I am currently running 6.1.30. I first tried running Devices>Insert Guest Additions... which usually results in the autorun.sh file running and asking me to install the new guest additions (this is when I run it on Ubuntu). Instead a CD is mounted and appears on the desktop without autorunning.

I followed these instructions found in the Kali documentation:

sudo apt install -y --reinstall virtualbox-guest-x11

https://www.kali.org/docs/virtualiza...est-additions/

After running this command, I check what version of guest additions I am running and it says I am still running 6.1.30 not the last 6.1.32.

Can someone help me with why the CDROM is not autorunning or help me out with command line commands on updating to the latest version of guest additions?

Thanks!
