Unhappy CPU and GPU not being recognized on Kali

Issues with GPU, CPU on a built at home PC.

I first noticed this issue when I tried to run hashcat on my VMWare virtual machine. I receive

    ?error: unknown target CPU ?generic??

Device #1: Kernel /usr/share/hashcat/OpenCL/shared.cl build failed.

I am also receiving an error when I use -D2 for my GPU

cuinit(): no CUDA-capable device is detected.

    ???????????????????-
TLDR; Why is kali Linux not detecting my CPU or GPU? I?ve been working on this for hours and cannot find the solution.

    AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
    Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060ti

You are in a virtual machine, so therefore you have a virtual CPU and a virtual GPU, you can allocate more cores to your virtual CPU and enabled graphics accelleration for the virtual GPU in your virtula machine software, BUT in a VM hashcat can only ever use the virtual CPU to crack hashes!
