SSD installed in computer or running from a USB adapter?
Is SSD 'blank' or does it already have partitions on it?

Dual booting Kali with Windows requires a bit of work, Newer versions of Windows use UEFI boot which Kali can use too, but it does also require a 500MB FAT32 partition for GRUB and Windows 'wants' to be the only OS on a system so it normally overwrites boot partitions when it updates, so you might have to fix it now and again.

You didn't say if you were trying to install Kali on its own drive or on a multi partition drive with Windows already on it.

The fact it is not seen by Kali is because it is probably in a format Kali doesnt recognise (or its not 'initialised'), if you want to 'fix it' from within Windows, format the drive/partition as FAT32 and then the Kali installer should be able to access the drive/partition and go from there..

Kali cannot see an NTFS formatted drive or use it, as described earlier, first format it to FAT32 in Windows and then reformat it when booted from the Kali installer.
