dual monitor resolution issue

my kali managed to boot up correctly with dual monitor capability however one of my screen resolution cannot be adjusted to 1366*768 what can i do?

You can certainly config it in xorg, but monitors are either 'joined' where they but edges virtually, 'mirrored' so both showing the same, or individual, but I don't think that allows 2 monitors at once.

joined seems like the best choice, but I'm not sure if the monitors have to match resolution to work that way?
