Test # 4

modified ramdisk with earlier working on. may have same issues as 3 not sure.
This one installed but boot looped.
https://transfer.sh/pIhcA/kernel-kali-n4-n5.zip <-- Kernel with default mako_defconfig / same ramdisk installer
This one installed and I get "Kernel version 3.4.0-perf-gc63f3d5 root@packer-virtualbox-iso #1"
Also, thank you very much for all your efforts. If there's anything more I could do aside from testing the kernels please let me know.

Wow thats great. So we've isolated it to one of the options in the kernnel config file. I will have to slowly start turning on the options to see which one is causing the issue. Thank you for your continued testing!

Edit 1:
I've turned on mac80211, atheros, and rtl8187 support:

Installed booted fine "Kernel version 3.4.0-kali-g14ec78e root@kali #1"
https://transfer.sh/xcxaG/kernel-kali-n4-6.zip
More wireless options enabled:
wireless rndis
RTL 8192CU/8188CU USB
ralink rt25/27/28/30xx support
This one also booted fine. "Kernel version 3.4.0-kali-g7e9c603 root@kali #1"
https://transfer.sh/mNFnD/kernel-kali-n4.zip
Forgot to put version number on file but this is 7 now.
Added:
kexec
loadable module support
Getting a boot loop from #7.
https://transfer.sh/myLoX/kernel-kali-n4-8.zip - Removed kexec.
Thats maybe a bit offtopic but i got Nethunter working with AOSP Carbon rom and your #6 kernel.
But still my rt2800usb card isnt recognized by airmon-ng, and no wireless device is listed in iwconfig.
BUT its detected in airmon-zc and if i put monitor mode in airmon-zc everything is working fine even tho i had to patch wifite for it.
Just a side note, maybe its my usb stick or maybe some driver issue with airmon-ng.
#8 also looped.
I have a nexus 4 and try
I flash the nethunter rom and then n5/n6 zip
After google screen and I get grey screen only
Anything I did wrong??
https://transfer.sh/H1lAE/kernel-kali-n4-9.zip - #9 removed loadable modules, kept kexec
#9 booted properly "Kerner version 3.4.0-kali-g519132a root@kali #1"
@m4xw - The Nexus 4 requires y-cable in order to support OTG. I just need to confirm that you are using y-cable.
@integy - You should be able to flash nethunter over stock 4.4.4 then use kernel #9 (flash in TWRP). This is just based on feedback so far so I can't confirm.
@psicomantis - Thank you for your continued support. Will continue to add more drivers...
edit
-----------------
I doubled checked and rt2800 is def enabled. Here is the latest kernel:
https://transfer.sh/LRoKr/kernel-kali-n4-10.zip
Added btusb (bluetooth), SDR, and one ethernet driver.

Things are looking good, 10 booted fine "Kerner version 3.4.0-kali-gbcd5369 root@kali #1"
Flashed and boot sucessfully for n9
Then I did some test, usb hid attack not working, not matter mtp enable/disable or usb debug enable/disable
Bad usb mitm attack will become another gateway, but not foucing the computer to use it
Hope the test can help you
Since i still need mods to approve my posts i can't edit.
Made some pictures for you, using your lastest #10 kernel
https://imgur.com/B3w8vEH
First pic is iwconfig.
airodump is fully working as far i know if i start monitor mode with airmon-zc
m4xw - Have you tried calling up:
From inside chroot?Code:ifconfig wlan1 up
Hello
Does number 10 miss any of the features of the other builds ? Thank you in advance.
I can't test #10 but it technically should have support for wireless usb/hid/etc. Please see previous comments though about issues.
Is it too late to get a copy of a working kernel, or an active link? I've been using KaliPwn on my Nexus 7 2013 for a while now and just received a nexus 4 from a friend and was hoping to flash the nethunter image on it, however I cant find a working kernel and I am stuck with a bootloop like the others. If I have missed the bandwagon, then, oh well.
Hi nenimlas,
I'm playing around with my nexus 4 and nethunter and compiled a "working" (not-bootlooping) kernel. You can flash it with TWRP after install the nethunter.zip from the download page. I haven't tested if wireless attacks work but you can enter the kali chroot and msf.

Use 10minutemail.com or similar service for requesting the downloadlink.

Hi there everyone,
I Currently am stuck on a boot loop since installed NetHunter on my Nexus 4 (E960) KTU84P,
I tryed uploading file from USB KEY (OTG Y-Cable) and of course this phone doesnt support SD Card...
My question is... How to you install a Kernel or fix this problem?
If someone can point me the dirrection to a link (And not google hahaha)
Photonicgeek provides daily/weekly kernel builds: http://photonicgeek.me/NetHunter/Kernels/mako/
Download, reboot into recovery (hold power and volume down or up), install zip file in recovery.
Hey Finally i managed to put my Nexus 4 KTU84P back to normal, Now if i want to install Net Hunter on it, can someone please point me the correct ROM + Kernel Please?
Finnaly,Kali Nethunter 1.10 supported nexus 4 but not android 5.
I am running on android 5.0.1, kali nethunter is working on it.
I intent downgrade to android 4.4.4 to install nethunter, but i don't know i can restore app running on android 5 to android 4.4.4.
Someone try?
Dear All,
I am having sleepless nights due to the failed nethunter installation on nexus 4. Please anyone help, I have used nethunter windows installer and have followed all steps but after pushing chroot+ kali ...step i am stucked at boot locked logo. Plz any one help.
Kumar.
Sorry For My Bad English
Hi all..
Here are my 2 cents about this..
I tried to do the install in several ways, but the only way it worked for me was the following:
1. Flash the factory image as per instructions here. And of course stopping after step 6.
2. Use Nexus Root Toolkit (NRT) as per instructions on the same page.
3. Install "TWRP Manager" and Allow (Grant) it SuperUser access.
4. Flash TeamWin Recovery Project (TWRP) version 2.8.3.2. Either with TWRP Manager or manually.
5. And NOW run the NetHunter Installer. As mine has stopped after pushing the 1.10_occam_kitkat.zip file to the phone and trying to run the flash script. As it was already in the recovery I just continued the installation of the said file manually, through the "Install" command inside the recovery and then choosing the file in question.
6. After the lengthy installation just follow the "Post Installation" as described on the page.
7. Tah-Daaaaaahhh.. Voila.. At least it was for me..
I wish you much luck in this process dear Sirs and/or Ma'ams.
Hope this was helpful..
I'm interested as well, as my N4 has been a great servant so far and will continue to be in the future .
I just installed v 1.1 by manually flashing the zip in multirom twrp. I had a warning that the zip was too big and that it would be modified but the rest of the install went off without a hitch. It booted fine, no boot loops and all appears to be working but I don't have an OTG y cable to test. Is the warning anything to worry about. I had about 6.5 gigs free space which is quite abit on the nexus 4 that has no sd card slot. Ive sort of been reading around and it sounds like somethings aren't working. I wondered if I could try something simple to test. Most of my knowledge is around wireless and airmon-ng but would like to test if somebody could point me. I noticed that during the flash of the zip that it also said installing busy box so do we still have to install the busybox app in our rom? I hope support for the nexus 4 continues since Im sort of thinking of retiring as my daily and keep it for pentesting
Hi had the same boot loop.
First. Make sure you have android 4.4.4 on your nexus 4 as lolipop drivers will mess thinks up. and remove all old drivers from your PC.
I used: nexus root kit from WugFresh. went to Android 4.4.4 KTU84P --> Full Driver installation guide.
Downloaded the kali_linux_nethunter_1.10_occam_kitkat.zip from the website and pointed the install from the Nethunter install
STEP 3# Installer Configuration browse to this file as a custom kali linux Nethunter.
Installed without a problem after that.
Now I still have some issues:
TWRP gives a problem with: Mount usbotg not mounting in bootloader
OTG not working out of the box.
(Does work a little after install hells-Core-b47-USB-OTG_Justvarshney.zip internal wifi keeps working) TL-WN722N usb does not work.
Wlan1 is not there.
Using a Y-cable (working with mouse and usb after install: hells-Core-b47-USB-OTG_Justvarshney.zip) 2amp powerd.
When i plugin my tl-wn722n and do a lsusb it does show up in the list.
In iwconfig does not show. No wlan1
Driver files are on the filesystem.
Now got stuf working:
Nexus 4:
Wifi working mostly also level one wifi adapter seems to work
still testing
Unlock the phone
Install bootloader
Install default android 4.4.4
Install photonicgeek.me mako kernel with twrp don't forget to wipe cash
and dalvik
http://photonicgeek.me/NetHunter/Ker...t-12042014.zip
Install busybox-signed.zip and UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.40.zip with twrp don't
forget to wipe cash and dalvik
Installed kali_linux_nethunter_occam_kitkat.zip with twrp don't forget to
wipe cash and dalvik
Reboot the phone
With in kali terminal
make a symbolic link to /etc/firmware
ln -s /system/etc/firmware /etc/firmware
shutdown the phone
Plug in the wifi usb adapter with y cable and power
Start the phone
In the default android terminal
su
ifconfig wlan1 up
Now start nethunter you should see the wlan0 wlan1 and p2p0 interfaces.
Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 2012 other harware Odroid U2, PI 2 running kali, Kali on Ironkey and laptop and server
Hi,
A major truth is been hidden behind kali nethunter. That is, Its not an independent OS like ur Venila android or Cyanogenmod. All you need to do is
1. Install ur stock rom (Kit kat 4.4.4 Dont update to lollipop)
2. Root and install TWRP
3. Copy the nethunter package to ur internal memory
4. Reboot 2 recovery
5. Install >> select the net hunter zip >> Install and reboot the system
It will work fine
If u are a MultiRom use
1. Install kitkat
2. Reboot 2 recovery
3. advanced >> Multirom >> LIst roms
4. Select the kit kat rom
5. Select net hunter flash zip, install it and reboot to the rom
6. You will find net hunter as an app with all the necessary tools
7. Thats it Done.. Enjoyyyyyyy...
I wating kali nethunter 2 for nexus 4.
But I must buy a new Nexus , not support nexus 4 , so sad
Hi all
Anyone try to install kali 2.0 on nexus 4
