So, i can't say I found THE solution but I did find A solution.... at least for me.
I was reading a thread here about checking the sources list because another user couldn't get any updates or installs.
So I went to Kali's site and checked the sources that should be used. The site says source.list should read
Code:
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main contrib non-free
However, my source.list read
Code:
deb http://http.kali.org/kali-rolling main contrib non-free
So, I added the missing word "kali" and saved the file. Opened terminal and
Code:
apt-get update
apt-get install reaver
Reaver is now installed and working.
NOTE: I am a basic beginner. Everything I've read tells me to leave the sources alone.
I could have very well spent the rest of my night re-installing Kali... I know this.
I do NOT advise anyone to follow my directions. As with everything in life, do so at your own risk.
I am not responsible if you break Kali. I'm only posting this as a courtesy for anyone having
the same problem... just contributing.
