Very Slow Internet Connection over Wi-Fi(WLAN)

Hi, I'm running Kali GNOME Version 3.4.2 64-bit.Hard Disk Install. Dual Boot with Windows 7.
I am having trouble with the speeds that I am getting over my Wi-Fi connection. I am new to Kali but have used Mint, Ubuntu and BackTrack in the past.
I never encountered any problem as such. The websites seem to load fast but downloads on the Iceweasel browser and sudo apt-get upgrade and sudo apt-get update seem to have very slow speeds. I have also got a Windows 7 installation but the speeds on that are quite fast, around 270 Kbps.(I live in India and this is quite fast there). But in Kali I'm getting around 10 Kbps on the Iceweasel downloads and hardly 1 - 3 Kbps on the sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade.

But none of the commands that "Wild Man" has told there are working

try to use apt-fast for the upgrade and try to install Tweak Network Settings add-on to iceweasel i was solved similar problem in this way

Exactly how do I use the apt-fast? Please code the full line and can you give the process to install the Tweak Network Settings? Thanks!

In Kali, you are only able to install apt-fast by install it manually. Therefore, download the files (file1,file2) and run the following commands:

cp apt-fast /usr/bin/
chmod +x /usr/bin/apt-fast
cp apt-fast.conf /etc
apt-get install aria2

For Tweak Network settings: press [ctrl]+[shift]+[a], search for "tweak" and install Tweak Network Settings.

I'm experiencing the same problem, on kali 2.0 or old versions.

Now I am on cable and it is working fine.
The solutions posted here or others on google aren't working for me.

Also getting half the net speeds in Kali that I get in Windows?
I tried a couple things via Google, didn't seem to help :/
