    v1.1.0 NVIDIA Optimus hardware support?

the following feature might be self explanatory to some, but it is not for me.
The new release runs a 3.18 kernel, patched for wireless injection attacks.
Our ISO build systems are now running off live-build 4.x.
Improved wireless driver support, due to both kernel and firmware upgrades.
    NVIDIA Optimus hardware support.
Updated virtualbox-tool, openvm-tools and vmware-tools packages and instructions.
A whole bunch of fixes and updates from our bug-tracker changelog.
And most importantly, we changed grub screens and wallpapers!
What does it mean exactly to have "NVIDIA Optimus hardware support"? What as changed from previous version?

It means they will most likely support bumblebee and bbswitch and other goodness like that.

I have always just installed the modules, installed bumblebee and primus, edited the config files to make this all work with optirun, perhaps they meant it was incorperated in the nvidia kernel???

Sorry but that got me even more mystified.

    1. Bumblebee did work with previous versions, so what is different now?
    2. "NVIDIA Optimus hardware support" leads me to believe that there is already a built in 'switch' so you wouldn't need bumblebee.

Thanks but even he does not answer my opening question. Seriously, does anyone knows what "NVIDIA Optimus hardware support" really means?

Hi Cyb3g0d, mine too. But it was working "the old way" with K1.0.7

So what is different now when they say "NVIDIA Optimus hardware support"?

This built in support for Nvidia + Optimus looks repo based.

I've noticed that you do not need to add the debian wheezy repo anymore in order to install bumbelbee and primus. The latest versions are already within the kali repo.
