Have you tried to set bootloader to "uefi" instead of "legacy" ? On my pc the grub doesn't see windows so if I want kali I press F2 at the boot and then I set to "legacy". If I want windows 8.1 I set to UEFI. Hope it solves your problem...

    Hi,

New to Kali - have a new laptop which has Windows 8.1 Pre-installed.

If possible -can some provide guidance on the following :

    1. To install Kali on a separate partition on the same hard disk as Windows 8.1, should the UEFI be disabled ?.

    2. Do i have to use Grub 2 or other bootloader.

    3. Any other considerations - as i am a complete novice in this aspect ?.

    Thanks and regards,

    Richard.
