Audio Issue When Connecting External Display

Hello all,

I’m experiencing an issue on my Kali Linux laptop. Whenever I connect my pc to an external display via HDMI, the audio volume instantly jumps to maximum.

For example, even if I set the volume to the minimum beforehand, as soon as I plug in the HDMI cable, the volume automatically resets to maximum.
This happens every time, regardless of the previous volume setting.

I’ve tested this with several different external displays and HDMI cables, and the issue occurs consistently, so it doesn’t seem to be related to a specific screen or cable.

I’d appreciate any help or suggestions on how to resolve this.

Thank you in advance.

How specifically, do you set the volume before hand?

The output will be switching from internal sound card to gpu output, or from a pulse audio point of view, changing the sink, you could write script that detects the change and changes settings to suit at the same time. The following is an reverse situation, but same principle.
