Changing proxy using tor

I have a problem. I wanted to change proxy like in tutorials on yt. There is an example (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIufkbmcyA0). Soo i tried this metod after i been done i tried proxychains firefox and DNSleaktest . It was not working. soo i tried command sudo nano /etc/proxychains.conf instead of ( sudo nano /etc/proxychains4.conf) and it was not working too. i checked it like 100 times and not found a single problem in this configurations.
I tried even reset tor and uptating it and more like (sudo service tor start) and (sudo service tor status and it was active(exited). I also rebooted the system and not works. I dont know really the problem i tried but now i dont really know where is the problem

I using Kali Linux on USB Flash Drive . Im also connected on Ethernet cable i tried without it but still doesnt works. I installed Kali Linux on windows 11 with Etcher.

Hey! Sounds like you’ve already tried a lot of troubleshooting — respect for the effort!

Sometimes proxychains can be finicky, especially with DNS leaks or if TOR isn’t routing properly. If you’re just trying to browse anonymously or manage multiple identities, you might want to consider using residential proxies with something like Multilogin. It simplifies the whole setup — no need to tinker too much with configs or TOR — and gives you a much more stable and anonymous browsing experience.

Might be worth checking out if you’re tired of the hassle!
