I am encountering an issue on the Kali forum where I frequently see the message “Draft is offline” and “Draft error”, accompanied by a 403 error code. This happens when I am trying to save or submit a post.
Here are some details about my setup and what I’ve tried so far:
Same error messages happens to me also, with several browsers, though mainly happening when trying to edit a post for me, saving seems OK when a post first submitted.
After a couple of tries to save the edit the change will normally ‘stick’ so I wonder if its some sort of time out error in the forum?
Ant spam measures perhaps?
@Fred Can you please check the network activity through inspect element and see if you can see the cause of the 403 error? I have no issues with drafts on my end.
One anti-spam measure that is in place is brand new users are unable to edit their post unless they meet certain requirements which I will not mention to help prevent edit spam. I wonder if this is the cause of the error.
If you receive the 403 and can share me the network request for it, that would be a big help.
I think this supports my theory. As I said in DMs, because of your activity on the old forums and this one I have increased your standing on here which allows you to meet those requirements to edit posts.
@7RU57 If you can check the network request when it fails, that would be appreciated.
I am having the same problem so I checked the reply to my request and it shows this:
Blockquote Please enable cookies. # Sorry, you have been blocked ## You are unable to access kali.org ## Why have I been blocked? This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks. The action you just performed triggered the security solution. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.
Then I added https://forums.kali.org/ to the exempt list (so cookies are allowed) but nothing changed. I am using Firefox for Ubuntu 133.0 (64-bit)
It happened to me as well few times yesterday. It seems there is a buffer limit to what you write. Yesterday I had to post 3 consecutive replies instead of 1. If the buffer of what you are trying to write is large, then you won’t be able to reply/comment
let me compose a message, just gave 403 when trying to post it. this is firefox but kali forum is allowed all cookies, tracking etc in browsewr settings;
