Google drive have a free option for 15 GB space to store files or folders, perhaps craet an account using temp email for registration purposes
Great idea!
I was hoping rgmhtt had his own FTP server though.
Just a quick checkinâŚ
I do not see how to get to where private messages are. I donât have FTP, but email me directly at [email protected] and I will tell you the magic rsync method. But I wonât have time to work on it until Wednesday.
Typically, whoever I am working with has major resources for putting up stuff we are working on. Some company or university. Thus I donât have anything other than some rsyncing set up.
Sigh, each forum instance is different for things like private messages. And it is such a challenge to follow all. Give me email and IMAP any day over it. One advantage, maybe, to forums is searching for exchanges before one joined. But many mailists provide search functions as well. So I am an old-timer!
Top right hand corner is your profile. You should see an orange circle with the letter R in it. Click on that and you should see a menu and in the menu is an envelope icon which is the private messages.
I sent you a message so you should have a notification there, and can reply to me and on Wednesday you can show me your rsync magic.
denartha,
No envelope icon in that menu for me. Maybe I have not done enough in this forum to rate private messages.
I donât know. Well back to things here. Donât know if I will be back in yet today, and then really offline until late Tues night (ET).
Up to 30GB files can be shared here for free;
We are happy to announce that SendBig has now been integrated into LimeWire to allow you an even better and more convenient file-sharing platform
I didnât know LimeWire was still even going! Better and more convenient, a more convenient way of distributing malware more like!.
Thanks @Fred but I have email Robert and we will work out a way together for me to send over the img file.
If it works, I will look to host it somewhere more permanently, but lets wait until he confirms it does work.
Last I heard from limewire was a guy that downloaded a badusb.exe and got a bouquet of malware ^^
He downloaded badusb.exe and âinexplicablyâ he got a load of malware? Wow. (sarcasm)
I was a big fan of gnutella many years ago, but it got to the silly stage. I gave up on it.
I hadnât realised they were making you sign up for limewire, last time I used them it was an optional thing, not forced⌠I know their torrenting platform was (and still is no doubt) riddled with malware, the trouble with most of these services is they start of well, then get abused..
Iâve self hosted files before for sharing, but then before you know it, links get shared outside of those you give links to, and bandwith becomes an issue, not to mention people trying to hack the sever, it wasnât connected to anything else, and only had stuff being shared on it, so they couldnât cause any damage, but in the end it was more hassle than it was worth, especially as I already had everything on it
Its just a thought, but as youâve built the image now, and Kali no longer build it themselves, perhaps they might host it?
Might be worth reaching out to the devs, the worst they can say is no. Its quite an old platform now, so I canât see it using too much bandwith, I know they have moved away from supporting 32 bit platforms, but perhaps it could be offered âas isâ with no support?
Terrific idea. Do you happen to know any devs I could talk to?
Two points, partly for @Fred and for everyone else.
Robert, the OP, is a major contributor to the IETF, and has written and contributed to many RFCs(the rules for how the internet works).
Iâm happy to spend some time helping him out.
I moved house recently so my entire personal network is in storage. Otherwise Id be saying to Robert, âJust download it from highway2shell.ddns.net/cubie2.imgâ.
And then things would be easy. AlasâŚ
First, I want to thank @denartha for making the Cubieboard2 image. It is uploading to my Cubieboard2 Centos7 system right now, but will take some 4hrs over my 300gps link AT&T link (all I am willing to pay for, they offer me more but what for?).
I was going to offer to host the image, but at 17GB, it would take people time to download. Plus I am supposedly limited to 1TB/mo which does not equate to a lot of downloads. I WILL probably still put it upâŚ
And as a response, to comment on my IETF contributions, I am quite proud of my time spent with the thousands of others that have brought you all the RFC series (I consider Steve Crocker, author of RFC 1, a colleague and friend; now his brother Dave is a different fun character, but contributed SMTP {MCImail!} and lots of other important stuff).
And I say that I âprogramâ in English! Just look at the state machine in RFC 7401, my CPS prof would have approvedâŚ
Upload completed. You can see it at:
I expect to start working on it this afternoon ET.
there is a problem with that image. Stay tuned.
