Ended up having to remake a data cable because I misplaced the old one I cobbled together… but I finally got my NetHunter TicWatch Pro 3 connected and… of course I have the bcm43438a1 chipset! 
Well, I guess there’s nothing to do but be patient, and thank you for all of the work you’ve put into this!
