Image Size Issue

I’ve had this issue with a few different ISOs ported into a virtual box. The issue is when I try to install Kali, and during the installation, it tells me the disc ran out of space. I have my ISOs running from an independent 2TB USB. The issues are where the ISO itself only supports 4GB-12GB for the larger one. I’m just trying to install it with everything included. What is there that I can do?

So we assume here that you did not use the premade virtualbox image, but the actual ISO.

Before you mount that iso in virtualbox, during the step where you define the virtualmachine… how much ram, how many threads, etc… you also define how much space the virtual hard drive is going to use.

That is where you make sure that the VM has enough capacity.

No idea where the “2 TB USB” is coming into play - but running a virtual machine that is saved onto a device thats attached via USB is a spectacularly bad idea, it will be very slow.

Also - no one needs the everything iso or the everything metapackage - utilizing it thinking “more is better, amirite?” is a rookie mistake.

It’s a special use case image, as it says on the website.
Use the recommended image instead unless you already know very well why you really require it.
