If you are on a up to date install, and have met all the dependencies (default-jre, libreoffice-java-common)
It might be helpful to look up how to list and choose the JRE version the system is using currently update-java-alternatives is used for that. It may help testing with different JRE versions.
Alternately, it might be a permissions issue which you should research on your own, or for testing run it as sudo (with caution)
