Thanks for not using VLC media if youve read its TOS
Request Kali and Debian stop using http, this is 2025
Also please dont use TLS1.1
HTTP is dead, port 80 is dead, its blocked by modern software
I have to unblock just to reload or upgrade for 30 seconds
And Im vulnerable to those attacks, to many to list
Modern security aborted the likes of http over a decade ago
Gen 3 routers have it blocked

You can use kali-tweaks to turn https on, if you want to.

The integrity of the files is solved via gpg keys instead, reduces stress on the community mirrors.

But let me reiterate, especially for people reading this later on, there is no need to switch to https for security reasons.

If you are frightened, don’t use it. Otherweise read up on pgp signing keys and repositories
