Terminals Annoying Appearance Problem

Title: Unable to Restore System Default Appearance after Changing Widget Style in Kali Linux

Description: Hello, I’ve encountered an issue with the appearance settings in Kali Linux after changing the widget style. Here’s what happened:

Steps Taken:

  • I went to File > Preferences > Appearance and changed the widget style from “System Default” to “Windows” just to try it out.
  • I didn’t like the Windows style, so I tried to return to the System Default.
  • However, the system didn’t revert fully to the original default appearance. The window borders disappeared, but there’s still a strange font, and the cursor is not the usual one (although it is a block cursor as I want in the terminal interface).

Current Issue:

  • I am trying to change the font, but it doesn’t change at all.
  • Even though I’ve selected the “System Default” widget style, it hasn’t fully reverted to the original default settings.

System Information:

  • OS: Kali Linux running on Windows 10 64-bit as a VM.

Can anyone help me restore the appearance to the default settings and fix the font and cursor issues?

Thanks in advance!

try doing a full-upgrade and see if the issue persists
